By now we all know that the iPhone is ‘locked’ and must be hacked if you wanna use it on another carrier, such as T-Mobile.  Well, guess what?  Hack no longer.  Buy.com is selling a ‘never locked’ and in fact sanctioned unlocked iPhone.  Even better, the iPhone warranty is totally intact and the phone can be updated in a legit fashion by connecting to iTunes without having to worry about if Apple will ‘brick’ your phone.  If this isn’t a hint that Apple is trying to clear out inventory for a Gen 4 iPhone launch in June, then I don’t know what is.

But of course you’ll pay for it.  The ‘never locked’ 3G iPhone is $799.99 with free shipping.

  1. Buy.com either pulled the plug or ran out of stock in just 2 days - either way as of right now they are no longer selling them…..
