Leaks aren’t a good thing if your rolling in a canoe, but in the case of mobile phones we pray for them. This time around we’ve got word on Samsung’s newest Omnia phone, the Omnia 2 or GT-I8000. Although it lacks a touchscreen like the iPhone 3GS, it’s packing an 3.7-inch (800×400) LCD, 8.1 megapixel camera with dual LED flashes and the ability to shoot 30fps VGA recordings. Snazziness aside you’re still gonna have to tolerate the good old Windows Mobile OS, unless of course you’re masochist.

HTC’s Touch Pro 2 is said to be landing in the US sometime in June, and a recently leaked image showing the handset with Verizon branding seems to firm up that rumor. No word on price, but the Touch Pro2 launched last month in Singapore for an unsubsidized $887, a price no one would pay here in the UK or US.

Mobile Crunch says they’ve got the scoop on Nokia’s next MID, the follow up to the N810. Called the Nokia N900 (it might also be called the “Rover”, or “Maemo Flagship”), it sports an overall smaller form factor but the same 3.5-inch touchscreen found in the N810 with a higher resolution of 800×480. Under the hood is an OMAP3430 500/600 Mhz processor and much like many of today’s handheld devices it includes an accelerometer and aGPS.
What really separates the N900 from the N810 is that this is in fact a full blown smartphone with GSM Quad-Band and WCDMA connectivity. Although their leaked documents don’t explicitly read T-Mobile they believe that the instances of “TMO” reffer to the carrier and if true mean an international launch date of July and the US following in August or September and the EU in October.

While I’m not one to make a stink about typos, this one certainly warrants some attention. It would appear that T-Mobile’s Austria website posted a placeholder for a 32GB iPhone. Since Austria isn’t probably at the top of Apple’s list for distribution of the soon to arrive generation 3 iPhone I’m not sure how much weight the slip up should hold, but it most certainly brings creedence to many of the rumors regarding a 32GB iPhone that we’ve been hearing about.

With the official Palm PRE release date out in the open, news of a June 5th launch for Verizon’s enV Touch is a bit on the moot side. Nonetheless, the handset we saw leaked last month (known as the EnV3), will include both a 3-inch internal and external (800×480) touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera, full HTML browser, EV-DO connectivity and a QWERTY keyboard. When it goes on sale next month expect it to cost $149.99 with a 2-year contract and $70 mail-in-rebate, although there seems to be conflicting reports on the price point.

RIM’s CEO confirmed the impending arrival of the Blackberry Storm 2, but we never imagined, even in our wildest dreams that pics of the handset would leak to the blogosphere this soon. No official specs have been touted, but the bottom buttons now appear to be integrated into the touchscreen. With that all said, does this mean that were close to a Storm 2 launch? Perhaps Q4?

In April we saw Sony Ericsson’s CS8 cruise by the FCC for approval. Now a leaked doc shows the handset coming to T-Mobile on June 24th. Also, the CS5, the lesser of the two handsets, will launch shortly after on the T-Mob network, July 8th to be exact. And the T-Mobile fun don’t stop there. The same document shows the carrier adding Visual Voicemail support for compatible handsets on July 16th. Party at T-Mobile!

It was just yesterday that AT&T confirmed that they’ll be bringing the popular Blackberry Curve 8900 to their network this summer. Unfortunately, the press release was devoid of an actual launch date and simply stated an ‘early summer’ release. Now BGR’s inside man (or woman) says the Curve will land at AT&T on May 25th for $149.99 after a contract signing and mail-in-rebate. The tipster also says that AT&T will drop the price of the Bold to $199.99….bold indeed.

According to some leaked images, the name of the successor to the T-Mobile G1 is not the “G2″ as it was widely reported. If the images are to be believed, it’ll be called the “T-Mobile MyTouch 3G”? Maybe it’s just me but there’s something…wrong with that name.

The addicts over at Crackberry managed to get some pics of the upcoming Blackberry Curve 8520 aka Gemini. From the pics it looks like the new device will feature:
- Optical trackball as opposed to the classic ‘rollerball’
- Dedicated media player buttons
- Rubberized body
There’s no 3G which really boggles my mind but the device itself looks very polished.
