According to rumor, Android OS 2.o, aka “Eclair”, will be available by the end of 2009 and will feature multitouch gesture support. Before that, Android 1.6, a minor update based on the Donut branch, will be released. So what do we have here, Cupcake, Donut, and Eclair…what’s next on the menu, Flan?

It seems new photos of the elusive HTC Leo has turned up on the net. It’s a droolworthy phone going by the specs alone: 4.3 inch WVGA 480×800 capacitive touchscreen, Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Wi-Fi, GPS/a-GPS, accelerometer, 3.5mm headset jack, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus/ dual-LED flash, 512MB flash memory/320MB RAM.
If the photo is genuine, the phone is the real deal. Sexy, carbon black look, huge screen, powerful specs? Eh, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Photos of the Samsung Rogue U960, successor to the Verizon Glyde, have been leaked on the net. The phone will be supposedly released on the 15th of August and will feature Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0 OS. Other features include:
- QWERTY slider keyboard
- 3 megapixel camera with flash
- microSD slot
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- And other features that should be released soon

The folks over at BGR seemingly uncovered the specs for RIM’s next BlackBerry, the 9700. Up to this point, no one knew it even existed so take it as you will. Ready to get your head blown off by the astounding specs of the new super, bionic BlackBerry? Here goes:
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- UMTS/HSDPA
- 480×360 resolution display
- Wi-Fi a,b,g
- OS 5.0
- QWERTY keyboard
- 3.2 megapixel AF camera
- Bluetooth
Yeah, I know, not exactly mind-blowing but the excitement is in the details, which will be uncovered. Soon. Hopefully.

Rumors have it that LG will be releasing the LG BL42 Chocolate slider, a sweet but bitterly dark phone that seems to be the spiritual successor to the original. It looks to be a mid-range phone with a sleek, sexy finish, HSDPA, stereo bluetooth 2.1, 240 x 320 QVGA display, slide-out keypad, touchpad, microSDHC, and 5 megapixel camera with flash and Schneider-Kreuznach optics.

A new image of the secretive BlackBerry 9020 aka Onyx has been leaked. The image shows a sleek new BlackBerry device with the much heralded optical trackpad. From the photo one can’t tell if it’s the retail unit but here’s hoping it’s the real deal. The Onyx is RIM’s up and coming device for AT&T, featuring an optical trackpad, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 480×360 screen.

Looks like new photos of the upcoming 3rd generation iPhone have been leaked. Who knows if they’re real but if it’s the real deal we can gather a few interesting things:
- Opaque back, slip resistant finish–less likely to smudge
- Power button on the top left instead of right
- Headphone jack on the bottom right instead of top left
- New side button on bottom right side, possibly a camera button
Well, in any case, all will be revealed at the WWDC that’s coming up in a few days.

According to unofficial documents, the specs for the rumored BlackBerry Tour 9630 have been revealed. The docs indicate a feature packed BlackBerry filled up to the brim with mobile goodness. Check it:

Rumor has it that Sprint might now offer the Palm PRE with a $100 instant rebate as opposed to a 1200 mail-in-rebate. If true, this is clearly a result of pressure from retailers such as Best Buy who have had plans to offer the rebate at point of purchase. I’m actually surprised that retailers offering Sprint service can undercut the provider, but since the rebate is probably from Palm it might circumvent any agreement with the carrier.

Reports indicate AT&T will offer the LG Monaco with Windows Mobile 7. If true, AT&T will be one of the first to carry a phone with Microsoft’s much needed mobile OS upgrade. The LG Monaco is reported to feature:

- Slide-out QWERTY keyboard
- Possible multi-touch screen
- 5 megapixel camera
