Android and iOS4 not your thing?  Still don’t know what those two words mean?  T-Mobile just released the LG Sentio.  It’s just $70 on contract and includes a 3-inch touchscreen, some sort of “Social Buzz” feature, 3 megapixel camera, visual voicemail, 3G connectivity, customizable widgets and email access.  In other words it’s cool enough on the outside, but kind of lame on the inside.

It wasn’t a question of if, but when Apple would get hit with a class action lawsuit regarding the iPhone 4.  The device has been plagued by antenna and reception issues.   The suit claims the following:

• General Negligence (APPLE and AT&T)
• Defect in Design, Manufacture, and Assembly (APPLE)
• Breach of Express Warranty (APPLE)
• Breach of Implied Warranty for Merchantability (APPLE and AT&T)
• Breach of Implied Warranty of Fitness for a Particular Purpose (APPLE and AT&T)
• Deceptive Trade Practices (APPLE and AT&T)
• Intentional Misrepresentation (APPLE and AT&T)
• Negligent Misrepresentation (APPLE and AT&T), Fraud by Concealment (APPLE and AT&T)

Will they win?  Good question.  Given that Apple has all but out right admitted that there is a problem, if they don’t hurry up and fix it I don’t see why not.

Bloomberg news is reporting that a Verizon iPhone can be expected as early as next January, at least according to sources close with the matter. Validation? None, but of course. Production is set to start in September, though we still don’t know if Verizon’s version will run on their next generation network, which would surely draw some AT&T iPhone users.

This isn’t the first Verizon iPhone rumor to emerge.

For Jesus’ sake!  Apple sold 1.7 million iPhones as of this past Saturday.  I’m wondering what is happening to AT&T’s network right now?   Word is that a large chunk of the sales were from previous iPhone users upgrading to a new device.    This is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history.

Apple’s 16GB iPhone 4 costs $188 to make.  The most expensive part?  The “retina display”, which costs almost $29, while the A4 processor sets them back almost $11.  Keep in mind these numbers come by way of iSupply, not Apple, so there are no absolutes here.  This price does not include labor.
