Google announced the release of Google Maps for mobile 3.2 for Windows Mobile and Symbian series 60 devices.  So what’s new with this release? Layers. You can now add multiple layers on top of the map. Say you’re viewing the map and want to see the traffic. Click, there you have it. Maybe you want to Wikipedia the area to see what’s interesting. Click again and there you see it on top of the traffic layer. Another layer? Click, I’m sure you get the point. The following layers are available to you:

  • Traffic with new traffic incident icons
  • Directions
  • Google Latitude
  • My Maps–view (but not edit) your custom points of interest created with My Maps desktop (New)
  • Transit lines with station departure information (New)
  • Wikipedia facts (New)
