Yesterday we saw the HTC Touch Pro2 emerge with AT&T branding and today the phone became available for purchase from T-Mobile for a non-recession friendly $350, and that’s after a 2-year service agreement. What T-Mobile is smoking is anyone’s guess, but if you’ve got the will power hold out a month or so and I’m sure we’ll see a price cut.
The big features are a 3.2 megapixel camera, touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, stereo Bluetooth, music player, WiFi, GPS and 3G connectivity.

At this point I think it’s safe to say that just about every carrier, except Sprint, will be carrierring their own branded version of the HTC Touch Pro2. And to firm things up, leaked photos of an AT&T Touch Pro2 have emerged complete with AT&T badges. Except when it comes to market on the biggest carrier it will be called the Tilt 2. We still don’t have a price or launch date, but considering we’re seeing pics of the phone in the flesh I’d expect it to go retail well in time for the Q4 holiday shopping season.

News has surfaced that T-Mobile is priming their guns to launch the HTC Touch Pro2. This news comes as a surprise as we last saw the Touchpro2 in May adorned with a Verizon badge. The launch date for the QWERTY, touchscreen handset is said to be August 12th, but price is currently unknown.
Other features include a 3.2 megapixel cameras, touchscreen, WiFi, GPS and 3G connectivity. Like all HTC phones, or should I say most HTC phones, the Touch Pro2 will run Windows Mobile 6.1, but be skinned with HTC’s proprietary TouchFLO 3D UI.

HTC officially kicked out their latest Android handset today, the Hero. The big piece of news attached to this phone is that it is the first of its type (Android OS) to ship with support for Adobe Flash. Battery skepticism aside, HTC is also pushing a trifecta of options that are intended to make your mobile life easier, which in my opinion sound more like a repackaging job.
First up there is the ‘make it mine’ which is simply a number of widgets and skins that can be tailored to your lifestyle. For instance you can have a ‘work’ profile, a ‘weekend’ profile and a ‘going to the club’ profile. Next up is something called ’stay close’ which associates info, such as emails, contact info, notes, social networking with contacts or persons at a glance. Lastly, they’ve rebranded the phone’s local search and called it ‘discover the unexpected’, which is designed to expedite the process of looking for a contact numbers and so forth. The HTC Hero will hit Europe in July, Asia late summer and North America some time later this year.
Specs wise the phone breaks down like this:
- Qualcomm MSM7200A 528MHz processor
- Android OS
- 3.2-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with 320×480 HVGA resolution
- 288MB of RAM
- 512MB of ROM
- Size: 112 x 56.2 x 14.35 mm ( 4.41 x 2.21 x 0.57 inches)
- HSPA/WCDMA (900/2100 MHz) and Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) connectivity
- Trackball with enter button
- GPS
- 5MP camera with auto focus
- Media player
- 1350 mAh battery
- microSD card slot
- Digital compass
- Accelerometer

Might this be the HTC Firestone? If so, sources behind the leak say it includes GSM connectivity, a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 600mhz Qualcomm processor, 256MB of RAM, microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Like many of today’s smartphones HTC has also tossed in an accelerometer for auto screen rotation and a yet to be confirmed 8 megapixel camera. Expect the HTC Firestone to officially surface this August.

Sprint may have already announced the HTC Snap, but that hasn’t stopped T-Mobile from adopting the handset and giving it a little of their own branding. That’s right, the HTC Snap, aka S522, will be the Dash 3G. There really isn’t much to revel at, but just in case you’re wondering it’s sporting Windows Mobile 6.1, WiFi, GPS, full QWERTY and a mouse button that when pressed jumps you to your 20 favorite contacts. Expect it sometime this July for a yet to be disclosed price.

HTC’s Touch Pro 2 is said to be landing in the US sometime in June, and a recently leaked image showing the handset with Verizon branding seems to firm up that rumor. No word on price, but the Touch Pro2 launched last month in Singapore for an unsubsidized $887, a price no one would pay here in the UK or US.

HTC’s Magic is set to go on sale in the UK on May 5th, but that hasn’t stopped Vodafone from launching the phone 8 days earlier in Spain. Price for the handset will vary depending on what plan you chose, but in any event it’s apparently slightly more expensive.
