After market car part fans can now rejoice thanks to the introduction of Vertu’s latest collection, the Carbon Fibre. They’ll be available this August and price, well you’ll have to ask, because Vertu doesn’t feel the need to publish or perhaps deter any potential buyers. The phone depicted here is the Ascent Ti, and it includes a 2-inch QVGA display, 4GB of storage, 3G connectivity, and a 3 megapixel camera with an LED flash. The other phones in the collection include the Carbon Fibre Grip, Carbon Fibre & Copper Grip, and Carbon Fibre & Aluminium Grip.

It’s official: Nokia will ship the N97 to 75 countries this June. There’s still no official word on price or actual launch dates, but we’re hearing about $700 in the US. Initially, the phone will be sold unsubsidized and unlocked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a carrier eventually picked it up.

Mobile Crunch says they’ve got the scoop on Nokia’s next MID, the follow up to the N810. Called the Nokia N900 (it might also be called the “Rover”, or “Maemo Flagship”), it sports an overall smaller form factor but the same 3.5-inch touchscreen found in the N810 with a higher resolution of 800×480. Under the hood is an OMAP3430 500/600 Mhz processor and much like many of today’s handheld devices it includes an accelerometer and aGPS.
What really separates the N900 from the N810 is that this is in fact a full blown smartphone with GSM Quad-Band and WCDMA connectivity. Although their leaked documents don’t explicitly read T-Mobile they believe that the instances of “TMO” reffer to the carrier and if true mean an international launch date of July and the US following in August or September and the EU in October.

We first got word of the Nokia N97 back in early December of last year. Now according to some rumor, speculation and sources the smartphone will ship early June in the US. Although the ship date is said to be specifically June 2nd, I have my doubts since Expansys says the phone won’t be available to the UK crowd until June 26th, and they’ve historically received these types of handsets before the US. Expect the phone to cost about $700.
In case you forgot the Nokia N97 sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 32GB of flash memory, microSD card slot, aGPS, 5MP camera with dual LED flash, HDSPA, WiFi, USB 2.0 and Blueooth.

Rumor has it that Nokia is working on another update to the E71 smartphone. The supposed E71i will feature a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a QWERTY keyboard and slim form factor. It’s also rumored to have an updated OS, the Nokia S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, which features access point prioritization and increased battery life.
If the rumors prove to be true, it seems Nokia is milking the E71 for all its worth. And I wouldn’t blame them since it’s an all-around solid phone. Maybe in a few years time we’ll be announcing the E71xxii?

Oh yes, Nokia’s E71x is now officially available from AT&T! At just $99 after a 2-year contract signing and $50 mail-in-rebate, this full QWERTY keyboarded handset is actually a steal when compared to other Nokia handsets of a similar form factor. Features include 3G, GPS, 3.2MP camera, media player, 2.4-inch 240×320 screen, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD card slot and a 4 hour talk time on a single charge. Color me excited!

Some mysterious Nokia dual slider phone with CDMA connectivity and EVDO Rev A hit the FCC over the weekend. The details are a bit few and far between, but at first glance it looks similar to their line of N-Series handsets. Unearthed features include a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and microSD card slot. Phonescoop is reporting that Nokia says this phone is only destined for the Chinese market as the 8208. If so, then why the FCC filing?

Rumors suggest that Nokia is working on a “swivel” phone for Verizon. The new phone is supposedly similar to the Nokia E71 smartphone and will feature a full QWERTY keyboard when swiveled open. Other details are scarce but the interface is said to be based on the Nokia S40 UI.
