Palm PRE Now $79.99 From Letstalk.com
By Christen da Costa

If you bought a Palm PRE at full price just a few days ago, or even for $99.99 from Amazon, you should be kicking yourself right now. Letstalk.com now offers the WebOS phone for an ultra low $79.99 after a 2-year contract signing. Crazy? Perhaps, but this seems to be a good indicator that the PRE is destined for other carriers any day now other than Sprint, unless of course the PRE 4G is upon the horizon.
Note, you’ll have to send in a $100 mail-in-rebate.

Palm Pre Gets Unofficial Google Voice App
By Albert

So very sorry all you iPhone users, but Palm Pre just got their unofficial Google Voice app, dkGoogleVoice. Yeah, it’s not official but it works just the same. From the app you can make a call or text using your Google Voice number. It’s still in beta so expect a few bugs.
Palm Pre Hacked To Work On Verizon
By Albert

A clever hacker who goes by the name “Cleanser” managed to coax the Sprint-only Palm Pre to work on the Verizon network. No details on how it was done but the Cleanser’s got voice and SMS working on the phone. No data, yet, but it’s a great start to what will hopefully become a full blown unlockable Pre. Check the vid after the ‘leap’.
Play PlayStation Games On Palm Pre
By Albert

ZodTTD, the genius behind psx4all, has ported the PlayStation emulator for the Palm Pre. Soon you can play the legions of PlayStation games right on your Pre, with performance that exceeds iPhone 3GS’s version of psx4all. Awesomely mind blowing that a full blown console is packed into a device that can fit in the palm of your hand.

By Christen da Costa

Word on the street is that Palm just issued webOS version 1.0.4 for the Palm Pre. It’s an over the air update so you won’t need to jack into your computer to receive this one. This update addresses several security issues with Palm webOS software. Props to Townsend Ladd Harris for helping Palm out with this.
Unofficial Tethering Possible On Palm Pre
By Albert

Palm Pre enthusiasts have discovered a way to tether the Palm Pre to their PCs. Basically, it involves creating a SSH tunnel to the Pre, setting it as a SOCKS proxy, then configuring the browser to go through the proxy. Sounds a bit complicated but what you get is a 3G connection on your PC via Bluetooth. Good stuff but enjoy it while you can.
Palm Pre Out In June?
By Albert

According to the well respected NY Times, the Palm Pre is set to roll out during the first week of June. If true, the Pre will be facing some pretty stiff competition, in the form of Apple’s much anticipated, revamped iPhone and Samsung’s first ever Android phone, the i7500. Let’s hope the Pre will live up to and even exceed the hype, lest it becomes just another iPhone-killer wannabe.
Sprint’s Pre Launch Event On June 5?
By Albert

According to reports and leaked documents, Sprint is holding a Palm Pre launch event on June 5 noon. Perhaps this could mean a June 7 retail launch or maybe a less likely June 5 evening launch? Whatever the case may be, it’s best not to dwell on any specific dates. The Palm Pre will launch when it launches.
