It’s been sometime since we heard anything about Sony Ericsson’s Satio, but today the phone went on sale to Vodafone customers. Sign up for a 2-year plan and you can grab it for free. Specs wise were looking at one of the first 12.1 megapixel cameras, media player, GPS, HSDPA connectivity, 3.5-inch touchscreen, FM radio, WiFi and the always frustrating Symbian OS.

At the time of launch we knew that Sony Ericsson’s 12 megapixel camera phone, the Idou, would receive a name change once it got closer to an official launch. Well, that day - not the launch day, but the name day - has come. The Sony Ericsson Idou will be officially released as the ‘Satio’. Why they went with this moniker instead of Idou, which I personally prefer, is anyone’s guess. Still no word on a street date for the handset, but in case you forgot it is the first phone to sport a 12 megapixel camera and includes a Xenon flash, 3.5-inch touchscreen (640×320), Symbian OS, WiFi, GPS, media player and 3 finishes: black, silver, and bordeaux.
