Toshiba’s TG01 Snapdragon Handset Passes Through The FCC
By Christen da Costa

The Toshiba TG01, which just launched on Orange, has passed through the FCC. The version listed in the docs is a production unit, which potentially indicates a sooner than later launch of the Snapdragon powered phone here in the US. The phone is listed with support for CDMA networks, which means that it should pop up on Verizon or Sprint.

Qualcomm Announces 1.3Ghz Snapdragon Chipset
By Albert

Qualcomm announced their QSD8650A Snapdragon chipset for mobile devices. It comes in at an eye-popping 1.3Ghz while reducing power consumption by 30%. Umm, like, wow!? Other features include:
- 2d/3d graphic engine
- Multi-mode support for UMTS/CDMA 3G networks
- GPS
- Bluetooth 2.1
- Wi-Fi support
- MediaFLO
- Support for HD WXGA display
- 45nm process technology
- Draws less than 10 milliwatts of power in standby mode
What I would do to get my hands on a phone powered by this…Unfortunately, it probably won’t be for a while since the chip will sample in late 2009.
