
With little to no info to confirm said rumor, Sony Ericsson is said to be working on a follow up to the Xperia, the X2. This info was supposedly confirmed by Skyhook’s CEO Ted Morgan, but since they don’t actually make any devices - they provide a location based service - its perhaps a good idea that we file this away under rumor until we hear otherwise.
Worst case scenario, perhaps Gigaom made a typo?
PS I have no clue where that picture came from but it could be the next Xperia based on form factor alone

According to an FCC document, Sony Ericsson is porting their C905 handset over to the T-Mobile network. Called the CS8, it features an 8 megapixel camera with a mechanical lens cover, 3 LED video light, WiFi, 320×240 LCD and GPS. As always, launch date and price are TBD.

Sony Ericsson is billing it as a ‘camera phone’, but unfortunately the S312 has budget written all over it. The candy bar handset includes a 2-inch 176×220 LCD screen, 2 megapixel camera with video capture, dedicated camera keys, media player, Bluetooth with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, memory stick slot, 8 hour talk time and GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. The Sony Ericsson S312 will launch this quarter in ’select market’.

Sony Ericsson officially introduced the W205 today (there’s also a 205a variant), a budget oriented Walkman phone. The slider phone includes the following features: media player with track ID, 1.3 megapixel camera with video recorder, FM radio, dual-band GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth, headphones with inline controls, 1.8-inch display, all black finish and up to 2GB of storage via a memory stick card.
The W205 is expected to arrive sometime in Q3 for a yet to be disclosed price.
