Blackberry Storm 2 (aka 9550) Gets Handled In Video (video)
By Christen da Costa
The folks at Crackberry got their hands on the Blackberry Storm 9559, aka Storm 2. There doesn’t seem to be any massive changes to the smartphone and the device they had was very early stage and running the current Storm OS. The most notable changes we can see right now is that the 4 buttons at the bottom of the device are now integrated into the screen, a slightly sleeker form factor (check the battery door), the screen doesn’t click when it’s not illuminated (why, I don’t know) and according to Kevin of Crackberry it’s much easier to type on than the first iteration, so much so he’d actually consider making it his every day device.

It seems the folks over at Engadget Mobile got their hands on the new BlackBerry Storm 2. They reveal the new Storm gets rid of the SurePress click-screen in favor of a fixed capacitive display (which is a good thing). It’s sleeker and heftier, making it seem more high-end. Other details include:
- iPhone-like capacitance screen
- 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus
- 3.5mm headset jack
- Side soft keys
- Four soft keys on display for call, end, back, and Blackberry key
- Power and mute keys on top
