Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness Announced
By Albert

Today Sony Ericsson announced the Xperia Pureness, a phone more focused on design than on technology–to use their words, “talk, text, time - a holiday from technology.” Huh? Yeah, I think I get it, wait, nope, they lost me there. Even the name is kinda “wonky”. I mean, who names a phone “Pureness”? Oh yeah, I forgot, this phone is part of their new “make.believe” brand so I guess they can name it whatever the heck they want. Good thing it looks kind of cool. Right now we don’t have any specs but expect more details as we get closer to the November 2009 launch. Until then, let’s make believe it’ll have some awesome specs.
Official: Sony Xperia X2 Launching Q4
By Christen da Costa

Looky, looky, Nokia’s not the only one with a bit of handset news today. Set to launch in Q4 of this year, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 will feature a variety of improvements over the first iteration and will ship with Windows Mobile 6.5. The specs have yet to be published, but they let us know that it will include an 8.1 megapixel camera and 4GB microSD card loaded with 13 ‘panels’. Sony Ericsson is currently in talks with a variety of service providers, but I’d expect it to launch in the EU and possibly Asia first.
Leak: Sony Ericsson X3 Rachel, The Xperia Gone Android
By Christen da Costa

In case you aint’ heard, specs for Sony’s Xperia Android phone, the X3 Rachel, leaked out earlier this week. You can expect an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash and the usual camera features such as image stabilization, face detect and some VGA video recording abilities. Connectivity wise were looking at quad-band GSM, dual band 3G, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi b/g. There’s a microSD card slot for expansion, aGPS to get you from place to place and a 3.5mm headphone jack. We don’t know when it will arrive, but were expecting an official announcement from Sony Ericsson any day now.
Rumor: Sony Ericsson Working On Xperia X2 Handset
By Christen da Costa

With little to no info to confirm said rumor, Sony Ericsson is said to be working on a follow up to the Xperia, the X2. This info was supposedly confirmed by Skyhook’s CEO Ted Morgan, but since they don’t actually make any devices - they provide a location based service - its perhaps a good idea that we file this away under rumor until we hear otherwise.
Worst case scenario, perhaps Gigaom made a typo?
PS I have no clue where that picture came from but it could be the next Xperia based on form factor alone
